Books

I like reading books, and have an eclectic taste (aka almost anything in print). I like them enough that I've moved the content that used to be here into a separate page all by itself. So, more on the books that I like, and have been collecting, some of them since I was in kindergarten.

Quizzing

I'm a quizzer in my spare time, and periodically drop in on the quizzes at QFI Chennai.

Movies

I love movies. Got a few hundred VCDs and DVDs that I've picked up over the last few years, mostly "old hollywood". Favorite filmmakers - Akira Kurosawa, David Lean, Stanley Kubrick, John Ford, John Huston, Sam Peckinpah, Billy Wilder, William Wyler, Alfred Hitchcock, Satyajit Ray .. sadly, I just dont have the time to watch them (books are easier to read than movies - you can read them a bit at a time, not like a movie where you do have to sit down for an hour or two and glue yourself in front of the TV).

Music

A fairly eclectic taste here, though I prefer rock (Deep Purple, Led Zep), Jazz (Miles Davis, John McLaughlin) and western classical to anything else. I can do without techno, bubblegum pop and hip hop, thank you very much.

I just might find time for all the movies and music now, given that I've finally got a 30 GB video iPod .. that should come in handy on long haul intercontinental flights from one antispam conference to another.
